Andrea Kimi Antonelli was born in Bologna, Italy, in 2006. A Mercedes junior from his karting days, he won the Italian and ADAC Formula 4 titles in 2022 and the Formula Regional European Championship in 2023, then skipped Formula 3 to race in Formula 2 with Prema in 2024.
He made his F1 debut with Mercedes in 2025 as Lewis Hamilton’s replacement and scored his first podium in Canada. At the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix he became the youngest pole-sitter in F1 history and took his first win, making him the second-youngest Grand Prix winner. He drives for Mercedes in 2026.
