Gabriel Bortoleto was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2004. He won the Formula 3 title in 2023 with Trident and followed it with the Formula 2 championship in 2024 with Invicta, taking both crowns in his rookie season in each series.
That earned him a race seat with Sauber for 2025, making him the first Brazilian to race full time in F1 since Felipe Massa retired in 2017. He stayed on as the team became Audi’s works operation, and in 2026 he partners Nico Hülkenberg at Audi.
