1982 Brazilian Grand Prix

Alain Prost won the 1982 Brazilian Grand Prix for Renault, finishing 2.990 seconds ahead of John Watson (McLaren), with Nigel Mansell (Team Lotus) completing the podium. Prost had also started from pole position.

It was round 2 of 16 of the 1982 Formula 1 World Championship, held at Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 21 March 1982.

After round 2, Alain Prost led the 1982 drivers' championship on 18 points, 11 ahead of John Watson. Renault led the constructors' standings on 22 points.
