Fernando Alonso was born in Oviedo, Spain, in 1981. He reached F1 with Minardi in 2001 and, after a year as Renault’s test driver, won the 2003 Hungarian Grand Prix. He became world champion with Renault in 2005 and 2006, then raced for McLaren, Renault again and Ferrari, finishing runner-up three times with the Scuderia. His tally stands at 32 Grand Prix wins.
During a break from F1 he won the Le Mans 24 Hours twice and the World Endurance Championship with Toyota. He came back with Alpine in 2021, moved to Aston Martin in 2023 and holds the record for most Grand Prix starts. In 2026 he races for Aston Martin.
